RE: The tariff classification of Perindopril Erbumine (CAS-107133-36-8), imported in bulk form, from India

In your letter dated September 27, 2005, you requested a tariff classification ruling.

The subject product, Perindopril Erbumine (aka Perindopril tert-Butylamine), is indicated for the treatment of hypertension. The applicable subheading for Perindopril Erbumine, imported in bulk form, will be 2933.99.9000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for “Heterocyclic compounds with nitrogen hetero-atom(s) only: Other: Other: Other: Other: Drugs.” Pursuant to General Note 13, HTS, the rate of duty will be free.
